It's cut oversized. At 52" all round with a little stretch, it sits loose on a UK 8–12 and closer to the body on a UK 14–16. A UK 18 can wear it, but as a regular fit rather than an oversized one.

Where the length falls. 31" from the shoulder puts it at the upper thigh on most heights — long enough to cover the hip and wear over leggings.

The tie does the shaping. Left loose the shirt hangs straight and relaxed; drawn in it defines the waist. You choose the silhouette, so the oversized cut isn't the finished shape.

Cotton with 5% elastane has give, but it is a knit, not a stretch fabric — it moves with you rather than clinging.
